Ortus International only employs people who are highly qualified, tertiary educated and have relevant industry expertise and experience.

Directors Neil Edwards and David Grenfell are based in New Zealand. Our Associates Greg Dickerson and Graham Copland work with John Foord International, based in Singapore.

Neil Edwards

Neil Edwards, ANZIQS, is a registered and professional quantity surveyor. He has over 30 years experience in the quantity surveying and cost control field and specialises in project management, feasibility studies, value management and cost planning. Neil established Project Economics in 1992 and has been director in charge of many landmark projects throughout New Zealand.

Neil has also undertaken the valuation of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and other projects in China and Korea, including plant valuations for the Henkel Group in China.

David Grenfell

David Grenfell, ANZIQS, has extensive international experience. A registered and professional quantity surveyor, he also specialises in plant and insurance valuations, particularly for large multi use facilities. One of his recent projects has been the valuation of the Bangkok Metro system and a major project in Hong Kong.

David has sixteen years experience in the construction industry. Thirteen of these were in civil engineering and traditional building works and three in marine foundation, reclamation and large civil projects in Singapore. This included working as contracts manager of a $400 million port extension for the Port of Singapore authority.

Greg Dickerson

Senior Valuation Consultant Greg Dickerson is based in Singapore. He is a professional plant and machinery valuer and is a fellow of the UK Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Greg takes responsibility for many of Ortus’ international clients

Chris Russell

Chris Russell holds a Bachelor of Building Science and Graduate Diploma in Building Management. He has considerable experience in cost management and property management. Chris’ recent experience includes three major projects in Wellington: the hands-on control of Seatoun School; the day-to-day property management of a new upmarket apartment development in Oriental Parade and the Harbourside Residential Development.

Robynne Nunan

Robynne worked in the education sector before joining Ortus in 2001 as their Office Manager. As well as the day to day running of the office she also assists in the accounting and finance side of the company.

Kieran Quayle

Kieran has a National diploma in Quantity Surveying and Diploma of Construction Technology. Kieran’s recent work is a mix of work for WSG and residential estimates. He has experience in financial reporting and cost estimating.

Angela Low

Angela has a degree in Pure Mathematics and Politics and is currently completing a Bachelor of Construction in Quantity Surveying. She has
travelled extensively and has experience in financial reporting and cost estimating.

Gareth Williams

Gareth has been a Quantity Surveyor for 20 years. He has vast experience in financial reporting and cost estimating having worked both as a contractors QS and for Consultant Quantity Surveying firms. He has worked throughout New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Australia and Asia. Gareth recently completed an insurance valuation of 15 dams throughout Malaysia.

Charles Broadhurst

Charles has worked in various sectors of the construction industry throughout the United Kingdom, the Middle East, Southern Africa and now New Zealand for the past fifteen years. After heading two construction companies, he remains production focused by applying his experience to promote time and cost efficiencies, project planning, construction programming, cost control and project management.

Charles has worked extensively on multi-unit developments where quality of product has been his foremost goal.

  • 160 unit subdivision at Whisper Cove, Warkworth
  • 122 unit apartment development at Cuba, Botany Downs
  • 37 unit apartment development at Manuka Cove, North Shore
  • 14 unit commercial development at East Tamaki
  • 87 unit apartment development at Marama Point, Rotorua
